Solo Tier Addendum
Effective Date: April, 2026
This Addendum supplements the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy and applies whenever you use the Cogny Solo tier (the self-serve plan, currently $9/month). Where this Addendum conflicts with the main Terms, this Addendum controls for Solo tier usage.
1. What the Solo tier does
Solo connects Cogny's AI directly to your own marketing channels (for example Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, Shopify, Search Console). It proposes changes — such as budget adjustments, bid changes, campaign pauses, audience updates, ad copy edits, or tag changes — and you review and approve them from your Cogny workspace.
Unlike the Cloud tier (where you can permit the AI to run autonomously within guardrails you configure — for example budget caps or allowed action types), Solo requires you to approve every proposed action before Cogny executes it. In both tiers you operate the platform yourself; Cogny personnel do not run your account for you.
2. You are the approver
When you click “approve,” “apply,” or an equivalent action in the Cogny app, Cogny will execute that change on your connected account using the credentials you provided (usually an OAuth token). Approvals can have real and immediate consequences for your business, including:
- Increasing or decreasing ad spend, sometimes significantly.
- Pausing or enabling campaigns, ad sets, or individual ads.
- Changing bids, budgets, targeting, or bidding strategies.
- Publishing or editing ads, landing-page tags, or tracking configuration.
- Writing to your connected platforms in ways that may be difficult to reverse.
You are responsible for reviewing each proposed change before approving it, and for the business, financial, and operational outcomes of any change you approve.
3. AI can be wrong
Cogny's recommendations are generated by AI models analysing your data and context. They may be incomplete, out of date, based on misinterpreted data, or simply wrong. Do not treat them as professional marketing, legal, tax, or financial advice. If a recommendation doesn't make sense for your business, don't approve it.
4. Recommended safeguards
We strongly recommend that Solo users:
- Set sensible account-level spending caps directly on each ad platform (for example Google Ads account-level budget caps, Meta campaign budget optimisation limits).
- Enable two-factor authentication on every connected account.
- Start with small budgets and limited scope while you learn how Cogny proposes changes for your specific setup.
- Review the audit log in Settings > Activity regularly to confirm the changes that were applied match what you approved.
- Disconnect any integration from Settings > API Connections at any time if you want to pause write access.
5. Limitation of liability (Solo tier)
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cogny AB is not responsible for losses, costs, or damages arising from changes you approved through the Solo tier, including but not limited to wasted ad spend, lost revenue, mis-targeted campaigns, tracking outages, or policy violations on connected platforms caused by approved changes. Cogny's aggregate liability to you under the Solo tier is capped at the fees you paid for the Solo tier in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this Addendum limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory applicable law (including, where it applies, consumer-protection law).
6. Credentials and revocation
OAuth tokens and API credentials you connect to Cogny are stored encrypted (Supabase Vault) and are used only to execute actions you initiate or approve, and to fetch data required to produce recommendations. You can revoke them at any time from Settings > API Connections inside Cogny, or from the connected platform's own account settings.
7. Changes to this Addendum
We may update this Addendum. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Solo tier after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Addendum.
